Public Transportation Bus at Fort Myers Airport

LeeTran provides public transportation transfers between the airport and central Fort Myers via bus line Route 50.

Buses depart all days of the week, with the exception of New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas.

The bus schedule varies from season to season, but generally buses run from around 6.30-7.30 in the morning on weekdays and Saturdays and from around 8 in the morning on Sundays until approximately 9.00-9.30 in the evenings on weekdays and Saturdays and around 6-6.30 on Sundays. The frequency of departures is higher on weekdays and Saturdays than on Sundays. On weekdays and Saturdays approximately 12-14 buses depart going both directions, Eastbound or Westbound, while approximately 6-7 departures in both directions are offered on Sundays.

The route of the bus also varies depending on which day of the week it is, with a slightly different route taking place on Sundays than on weekdays and Saturdays.

The fare for an adult single journey on Route 50 is $1.50 while the discounted fare is $0.75. The discounted fare is available to those with Medicare cards, disabled persons, full-time students or persons aged 65 or older provided they can identify themselves with a LeeTran photo ID card. Children under 42 inches/106 cm travel for free. Exact fare is required since no change is available.

Points of transfer to adjoining LeeTran routes are Bell Tower and Summerlin Square.

Adjoining routes at Bell Tower are 30, 80, 140, and 240, and at Summerlin Square the adjoining routes are 130 and Beach Trolley.

The bus stop at the airport is outside the terminal building, please follow signage in the terminal for ground transportation, buses or public transportation.

There is a Greyhound Station on 2250 Widman Way, approximately 25 minutes by car from Southwest Florida International Airport. It is possible to transfer from the airport via public transportation, but it requires several bus transfers and will take at least an hour and a half.
