Everglades National Park: Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco-Tour

Everglades National Park in Southwest Florida is the home to a vast and varied ecosystem containing the largest mangrove forest in North America. This 3-hour tour takes you inside the unique ecosystem in a stable “sit-on-top” kayak. The lakes in the Everglades are refuges and nursery grounds for species such as alligators, ducks, egrets, herons, otters, spoonbills, stilt and wood storks, as well as a variety of cute little fish.

The Florida Master Naturalist guide has been certified by the National Park and licensed by the US Coast Guard and can provide a world of knowledge.

The kayak will weave through surreal and mystical tunnels in the mangrove forest, the interconnecting, narrow lakes and the flowing tidal creeks. Natural stillness is created as the shimmering of sunlight comes through the canopy and meets the sounds of the forest with the water slowly floating the kayak forward.

No previous kayaking experience is necessary.
